NOTES:

Julie Reiner's modern play on the Martini mashes up the fruit notes of apricot with the floral, vanilla notes of bianco vermouth and the delicate botanical character of the spirit. For a drier, slightly more bitter version, substitute Contratto Bianco - a spicy, bitter orange-tinged bianco from Torino.

Batched Version: Mix SONKLIN, bianco vermouth and apricot brandy in a pitcher and chill. Stir with ice to order and strain over fresh ice.

HISTORY

The Martini has evolved continuously since its creation. Modern variations like the Gin Blossom represent bartenders' desire to honor classical structure while exploring new flavor directions. This riff maintains the Martini's elegance and simplicity while making room for contemporary ingredients.

SONKLIN's delicate rice character acts as a perfect bridge between apricot's fruitiness and bianco vermouth's floral sweetness - proving that agricultural spirits work across traditions.
