NOTES:
The simplest and purest expression of rum. Ti' Punch (pronounced 'tee paunch' - 'ti' is Creole for 'petit') is Martinique's answer to the daiquiri, stripped down to its essentials. No citrus juice, no elaborate preparation - just spirit, sugar, lime, and ice. It's a drink that reveals the true character of the rum.
Batched Version: Not recommended for batching. Ti' Punch is meant for individual preparation. However, you can pre-measure cane syrup and keep lime pre-cut for quick builds.
HISTORY
Ti' Punch is the national cocktail of Martinique and has been the everyday drink of agricultural workers, sailors, and islanders for centuries. It evolved organically from necessity - a way to make raw rum more palatable with locally available ingredients. By the 19th century, it was codified as the island's cultural drink.
This preparation with Choeng Doi Blanc honors the drink's agricultural roots while showcasing your spirit in its purest form. It's a teaching drink - one sip tells you everything about the distillery.
