NOTES:

Our take on the classic daiquiri has less lime and sugar, and more rhum.

HISTORY

The Daiquiri is credited to Jennings Cox, an American mining engineer working near the Cuban town of Daiquirí during the Spanish-American War of 1898. As the story goes, Cox ran short of the usual makings for guests and instead shook Bacardí rum with lime juice and sugar over crushed ice, naming the drink after the town. It stayed largely local until 1909, when U.S. Navy officer Lucius W. Johnson brought the recipe back to Washington, D.C.

This version honors that original three-ingredient formula as closely as possible, using Choeng Doi Blanc in place of the original Bacardí and a fresh lime juice to carry the classic sugar-and-lime balance.
