INGREDIENTS
Fresh limes (washed, whole) • 3
Water • 3 cups / 720 ml
Sweetened condensed milk • 3/4 can (about 200 g / 7 oz)
Choeng Doi Blanc • to taste
Ice • as needed
STEPS
1. Add whole washed limes (ends trimmed) and water to a blender
2. Blend very briefly - just a few short pulses. Over-blending pulls bitterness from the pith and peel
3. Strain out the pulp and peel through a fine sieve, repeating if needed for a smooth result
4. Return the strained lime water to the blender with sweetened condensed milk and a handful of ice
5. Blend until smooth and frothy
6. Strain into a chilled glass over Choeng Doi Blanc, or blend the spirit in directly to taste
7. Serve immediately
NOTES:
This is Brazil's classic Limonada Suíça (Swiss Lemonade), made creamy with whole blended limes and condensed milk rather than juiced citrus and simple syrup.
Blend the limes very briefly - a few short pulses is enough. Leaving the blender running too long breaks down the peel and pith and turns the drink bitter. Double-straining helps if any bitterness sneaks through.
Amounts of Choeng Doi Blanc are flexible by design - add as much or as little as you like, either blended in or poured over the strained limeade. This is meant to be an easygoing, forgiving recipe for home bartending, not a precise formula.
HISTORY
Despite its name, Limonada Suíça ("Swiss Lemonade") has no real connection to Switzerland - it's a homegrown Brazilian creation, likely named for its pale, milky color. Made by blending whole limes with water and condensed milk, it's a staple of Brazilian home kitchens and juice bars.
This boozy version keeps that same forgiving, blend-to-taste spirit, swapping in Choeng Doi Blanc to turn an everyday cooler into an easy backyard drink - built by feel rather than measured to a fixed recipe.
